Overview
IperionX is the first of its kind. It's a sustainable titanium mining company that is completely owned and operated in the United States.
This innovative technology is to be presented on the website as an investment opportunity to potential investors, clients, and politicians.
IperionX needed a website that provided potential investors and future clients a way to engage with their line of products and learn more about the sustainable work they were doing.
Role
UX Design
User Research
High Level Goals
To position IperionX as a technology company, rather than a mining company and to to promote sustainability & community
UX Process
Stakeholder Interviews
Before jumping into the discovery process, I first conducted a round of stakeholder interviews, to further understand the problem but also to understand the high level goals for this project from the people who understood them best.
Desk Research
IperionX had a few pieces of key content that they were able to share, but discovery was important to understanding the existing market. The startup world can be very interesting, and IperionX had a first in its kind technology that had to be handled in just the right way.
Competivite Analysis
I wanted to take a closer look at some current competitors as well as understand the technology startup landscape in a little more detail. To do this, I compared a couple of websites that house similar ideas and concepts to IperionX.
High Level Working Solution
IperionX wants to position themselves as a sustainable company, and the first of it’s kind. Using a modular design approach, design future proof modules that allow IperionX to create a digital space that is product focused and highlights key insights for prospective investors and future clients.
Sitemap
Before jumping into wireframe and design, I had to first create a sitemap that allowed IperionX to understand each page, its content, and the overall structure of pages and their relationships to one another.
Sitemap Iteration and Content Outline
Once the first version of the sitemap was presented to the client, there was a consolidated feedback round in which the stakeholders were able to communicate the changes that they would like to see in V2.
Using a sitemap feedback ledger, along with the clients feedback work, I was able to produce a second round revision. The most notable changes in sitemap v2 were to create different primary pages to house new content for the client.
Final Revision and Content Outline
After one more round of client feedback, I was able to create the final sitemap, that would later be used as a content outline and ultimately inform design deliverables in the future, such as wireframes.
Early Sketches and Low Fidelity Wireframes
I started off by sketching, using the content outline as a guide to inform the page structure and overall layout.
I find it best to use the content outline as a 1-1 representation of what is going to live on the page, so that I am making sure that any and all content requested by the client aligns the goals to be addressed even if the ideation phase of design.
Digital Wireframes and Revsions
After ideating and sketching out some basic page layouts, I decided that the best use of time would be to start working in Figma to create client ready wireframes to present and walkthrough.
Feedback Ledger and Final Revision Round
After presenting the first round of wireframes, the IperionX team provided some feedback, and I got to work on revision and iterating on the final designs, with the client feedback being implemented to present the final designs.
Final Designs
Impact
IperionX really needed not just a redesigned website, but a brand new digital space all together. Combining content strategy as well as client and stakeholder feedback, I was able to create a product that not only aligned with the outline business goals, but also allowed the company to continue to grow and present new technologies on the site using a modular design approach.
Website traffic and user engagement has increased over sixty percent since the website design. Not only did I get to work on revisions and iterates on design ideas, but I was able to lend my startup experience to create a really great public facing site for an amazing company.
